Well, we grafted Pino Noir pruning harvested from Eric's Vineyard. We looked up how to graft on the internet.
I failed to store one batch of scion correctly effectively killing the whole batch. We spent 4 days grafting all of my vineyard with dead scion.
By chance, we ran out of the dead scion and I used what I thought was bad because it got all moldy. So the last row got moldy scion grafted. This is the only row that grafting took.
Now we know how to do it. Lessons well learnt. In 2 years, I should have a good harvest of more proper variety for the area.
Eric has stretched one wire for me while I was busy with other tasks. The graft that took had grown so much that the weight of the growth has caused the grafting site to break.
We just did a quick fix for now as we don't have enough time.
I will be leaving for Oregon tomorrow to tAKE THAT BAMBOO ROD MAKING CLASS I HAVE BEEN VERY LOOKING FORWARD TO going to. and When I get back, I go straight to the remodeling project of our new watsonville property. We shall name that property something proper.
We shall think of the name when the construction is finished.
